Research Interests
Research in my lab is currently focused
on parental care and development in birds, including such issues as sex
differences in development and behavior, mechanisms of parental food allocation,
factors affecting food choice and feeding patterns of parent birds, responses
to brood parasites (i.e. other birds), sibling interactions and relationships.
Both wild passerines and parakeets in the aviary are under study. Undergraduate
research opportunities are not limited to birds, however; both human and
insect behavior has been studied recently.
Contact Information

Prerequisites
Preference given to those with courses
in animal behavior and/or ecology and/or evolution. An ability to work and
think very independently, to discuss ideas with others, and to take responsibility
for research animals is essential.
